These clinics are geared to individuals and groups that want to learn about Western Dressage and have had little experience in a Dressage Ring. Kelly & Heidi work with the group on the basic gaits and maneuvers and show you how to be a better partner with your horse. Work is done on the importance of corners, circles, and ring placement. Each individual is introduced to the Dressage ring and by the end of the clinic is comfortable working through the Introductory and Basic Level tests. Kelly will work with each individual horse and rider bringing out the best if the horse’s performance. Do you think your horse isn’t capable of a certain maneuver? Kelly will show you how to get your horse to work better for you.
Do you feel comfortable with the Introductory and Basic Level Tests? Now it is time to move on to the higher Levels. Adding Turns on the Forehand and Haunches, Shoulder In and Haunches In, Leg Yields, Collected and Lengthened gaits, and gaining better control of your horse’s basic gaits. Kelly & Heidi will work with you to fine tune those maneuvers. Work more closely on picking up those easy points that should not be left in the ring. Also have a better understanding of what the Judge is looking for to make your performance stand out.
The day will be broken down into 5 - 2 ½ hour sessions beginning with the Introductory Level. Each test will be broken down and fine-tuned. Know where you need to be and how to keep each possible point. Understand the individual manoeuvres, where to place them, and how to make your performance special. Get into the Judges head and understand what the Directives mean and how to apply them to your performance.
Time will be spent on the rule book and watching videos of tests from various skill levels. We will help you develop your eye on the right and wrong ways to develop your Western Dressage potential.
Are you looking to grow your club and would like a fun day for people to come out and give Western Dressage a try? Kelly & Heidi are the perfect hosts to show new people how Western Dressage will change their lives.
We are also looking for 4 opportunities, spaced throughout the year, for 5 day Camps. Let us know if this interests you and if you have a facility that would accommodate this. Ideally we are looking for places that have camping and trail riding in the area. No better way than to perfect those working walks than on a trail through the woods.
Private and Semiprivate lessons will also be available when we are in your area.
